STK's Command Wolf Barad Ver. Review - P2 [Final]

Hi there again, this is the 2nd part of the review on STK's Command Wolf Barad Ver.

I'll be doing a comparison for the HMM 1/72 Command Wolf as I have both  the ori and the pirated one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***Please note that the pink coloured one is from Ko******** while the Blue one is STK's Barad's Ver.***
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
50mm Anti-Zoid Beam Gun..or..Cannon [as stated in the manual]
Weapon Turret's cockpit side view. One missing panel line..? XD The cockpit hatch opens well.

Front Top view. The nose for STK's has some missing details.
I still lol-ed at this part. The round parts painted silver are oval-ed shape.. XD Everything else is pretty much quite neat.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The Turrets:
Side view. I believe you can see the missing details. :P

Top view.                  Bottom view.

The sensor units are missing in place. Maybe you can cut out some foil stickers in its place.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The tricky part:
If one tries to just remove or twist it abit, sometimes the holder might pop out, but that's ok as the polycaps is still stuck to the gun.

That is the small platform that the weapon pod will be placed on before it is being mounted on the Command Wolf's hard point.

When it is being removed, the blue component from the weapon pod flips on abit, prompting the cockpit hatch to open up in place a lil bit. In this case, you might want to glue it or just push it back into its position.

AC - AZ2 250mm Long Range Cannon Attack Unit
As for this AC unit, I don't have a ori kit to show comparison, but I did look up on Dalong.net to see some minor differences.

As seen in the photo above, the ones I can spot are the missing lines on the round sensor unit, which I think with patience you can carve it out bit by bit.

And the second one is the sensor units right below the turrets, which I think can be cut out from foil stickers.

Lastly, you see those huge binder like things beside? The inner part of it looks messy right? The original is actually clean and smooth inside with those few thick lines.
A clearer view of the inner part of the side binder and everything else.

Pre-painted figures:

Yes, for Barad's ver. it comes with pre-painted figures. One is Barad and another is some robot figure.

In the original, Barad has a skin tone colour and of course both figures are more well painted. Right? The STK ones seems to be from the same base colour they were molded from. You can paint them yourselves too if you want. :)

Anti-Zoid 2 Barrel Cannon [not sure of the actual name..]

Thoughts:

Just like the Koto conterpart, each piece is molded out with no missing parts though with some very minor lost in details in some areas. Of course the quality is nothing compared to the original, but the plastic is tough. It's 95% near the ori. Barad's Ver [the one I'm reviewing], the plastic has this glitter dust if you shine the light at a certain angle. Not sure why.. XD But I know the original kit seems to be a lil bit glossy.

It's good to see that they tried to follow with the pre-painted figures and such too. Most of the parts fit in nicely, other than some tiny parts which needed to be glued [this case is also very common in the Koto counterparts, not only in the Zoids HMM line]. I can't comment much on the stickers/decals cos I never applied them...yet.

As for articulations, posability/mobility is similar to the ori. The legs all can stretch in and out alot but sadly with the way the paws are engineered, it can't really support the weight fully. If you're free, maybe you might want to try to do some minor modifications to the paws section to make it pose more.

For the money, which is 50%-60% lesser than the original price, it's worth it. Craving for something non-bipedal? Then I believe this is the choice. You can also buy to try it if you don't have any koto zoids kit before. It'll be fun to build and for those who have Barad's ver, you can share the equipment around with other Wolves in the pack. Ask those who first tried it and see what they say.

I never expected the HMM line to be pirated, honestly. The first I saw was the white coloured Command Wolf and the standard Gun Sniper, then later this Barad's ver and from BTmodel, the Shield Liger [it has one extra part which the ori doesn't have]. I'll be waiting to see what BTmodel and STK have to offer more on their future releases.
With this ends the review on STK's Command Wolf Barad Ver

I hope you have enjoyed the review so far. I'll try my best to update frequently as I also have to deal with stuff in my life.

Photos are by me.

STK's Command Wolf Barad Ver. Review - P1

As a start I'll be reviewing about STK's Command Wolf Barad Ver. which I bought back around end of  February from a local seller. STK was a relatively new brand that suddenly came out releasing a cheaper alternative of 1/72 HMM  Zoids line.

I'll be doing a comparison for the HMM 1/72 Command Wolf as I have both  the ori and the pirated one.

***Please note that the pink coloured one is from Ko******** while the Blue one is STK's Barad's Ver.***
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parts and details of the Command Wolf :

Notice some minor missing details, the pistons lots half of it somewhere.. XD And..the upper back armor's details are oval-ed shaped unlike the original

 The limbs:
I forgot for the top and bottom image, which is the left or right side. But anyways, the image in the middle shows some minor detail. These details would be covered up later by its armor and stuff so it won't be visible.

Zoids Core:
The Right side is STK's which has a small long air bubble in it.

While painting the tiny points on the core I noticed that 1 or 2 are missing points on it. XD And the Core Holder has very minor detail lost.

Front Legs:

Top image in the image above: The panel lining on the other half of the mold is missing.. XD I think one can carve out the lines, I was a lil bit lazy to do that. :P

In the image below showing the entire leg, you can see that original's part is a good straight cut, while STK's one has some extra plastic parts out a little bit.

Here, you can cut/trim it so the part fits in well. Or else it is a lil bit loose.

Rear Legs:
Similar case to the front legs as mentioned above. STK's one needs some minor trimming to make it fit in nicely. You don't want it to pop out and go missing right..?

I almost cried when i was looking for it on the floor... ;_;

Some Details:
 Some difference in details.

All the armor pieces that cover the legs have these missing details [top n bottom]
Saved an image from the web as I forgot to take a photo of it..
Notice those small panel linings in the gray parts? STK's counterpart does not have those but you can carve it out too I believe.

The Paws:
My Ori paws and My STK paws. :P

LC: Long Range Rifle [as seen on official manual] or [Long Range Cannon stated in other sources]
-[Details comparison]-
Some missing details that I miss painting most.. Was looking for it up n down but couldn't find them.

 Some..however, are too obviously gone.

Bottom view.

This part is the bottom end of the Long range Rifle/Cannon where the fans/turbines are.

The STK's one fits in nicely but seems like the shape is abiiiit out. At first I thought it was not tight in enough and tried to push but saw that it fits in properly.

The canopy/cockpit hatch:
The canopy/cockpit hatch for STK's one doesn't seem to open abit more compared to the ori. I did take it out again to check and the build is similar and there is nothing wrongly molded so..not sure why. But don't try to force it yea. Or it'll snap.

*[I didn't take the photo at a 100% side view angle to be able to show the difference, my bad.]

The Body:
Side view. They look very much similar.

Top view of the 2 Command Wolves side by side.

The Head:
1. The 3 panel lines at the STK wolf's cheek are abit thicker.

2. The fangs of the STK wolf are thicker. Now I don't know which one looks meaner. o.o;

Here ends P1 [Part 1]  review of the STK Command Wolf Barad's Version.

I'll have a Part 2 [P2] which is the last part of review for the STK Command Wolf. See you there and stay tune. :)

Photos are by me.
